Executive Coaching
Customized and within reach
No buzzwords, no jargon. Only useful insights wrapped in real-life stories.
“I asked for suggestions, but no one offered any.”
If you lead a team in or with Japan, you’ve likely had a version of this moment: you did everything your track record told you would work, and it didn’t land. That is because Japan moves by its own logic and doesn’t reward the instincts that made you successful everywhere else.
Many firms teach the visible, surface-level signs of what Japan is like: bowing correctly, exchanging business cards, avoiding direct language. These are a must, indeed. But while they help you build a strong first impression, they don’t help you lead, negotiate, or scale here. Executive Coaching helps you navigate the invisible dynamics with strategic intelligence that translates directly into faster decisions, stronger deals, and outcomes you can actually measure.
What it is
Executive Coaching is one-on-one, built entirely around you — your role, your team, your specific relationships and decisions in play right now. Where Corporate Training brings a shared foundation to a whole team, coaching goes deep on a single leader’s real, current challenges.
Engagements typically run 6-12 months, with regular one-on-one sessions. They are weekly or biweekly, depending on your availability, 60–90 minutes, conducted in person or online. We start by understanding exactly what’s not working, then build a working relationship around it and not a generic curriculum.
The moments that bring leaders to us
These are real questions from leaders we’ve worked with. See if any sound familiar:
- “How should I interpret the silence of my Japanese co-workers in meetings?”
- “How long will it take for my Japanese team to trust me?”
- “Why do they apologize all the time for things that don’t depend on them?”
- “I feel excluded from the decision-making process in our Japanese subsidiary.”
- “Our hires leave the company in less than two years. This turnover is costing us a fortune.”
- “Why does it take so long to make a decision?”
- “They think I’m too informal.”
- “My Japanese employees don’t talk to me. I feel like I’m always reading between the lines.”
- “Why didn’t our Japanese guests tell us directly what the matter is? They were polite and courteous but then went online to tell everybody how bad our service was.”
- “Why does their boss have to be included?”
- “Why am I expected to work on the production line even if my job description doesn’t include this?”
- “Why do I have to spell out every single detail?”
If you recognize yourself in even one of these, that’s the starting point of the work.
