Corporate Training
Customized and within reach

Meetings that produce no decisions, feedback that arrives too late (or not at all), and a Japanese team that agrees to everything in the room and changes nothing afterward. Most companies read these as performance problems and respond with more process, more oversight, more meetings about the meetings.

The real cause is usually invisible: your team is reading Japanese colleagues, partners, or customers through a lens built somewhere else. Corporate Training rebuilds that lens for an entire team at once, not just one leader.

What it is

Corporate Training is our group-format program, built for intact teams, departments, or cross-functional cohorts who work with Japanese colleagues, partners, or customers on a regular basis. Where our Executive Coaching is one-on-one and built around a single leader’s specific role, Corporate Training is designed to get a whole team operating from the same shared understanding so the person who “gets it” isn’t the only one holding the relationship together.

Every program is fully customized. There’s no fixed session length or format, because every team’s needs, schedule, and availability are different. Programs are delivered live, in person or online, for groups of 3 to 15 participants, and built around your team’s actual situation: the client relationships, the internal friction, the deals or projects currently in motion, and using real scenarios and case studies instead of generic cultural trivia.

What we cover

Introduction to Japanese business culture

The operating logic behind Japanese organizations: how trust, hierarchy, and consensus actually function, replacing surface-level etiquette tips with an understanding of *why* things work the way they do.

Intercultural communication

How to read indirect communication, silence, and “yes” that doesn’t mean yes, and how to be understood clearly without steamrolling the relationship.

Customer service

The unspoken standards behind Japanese customer expectations, and how to meet them in client-facing, hospitality, or B2B service roles.

Managing Japanese teams

Practical management techniques for building trust, giving feedback, and retaining Japanese talent inside international organizations.

Cross-border M&A and joint ventures support

Team-wide training to accelerate integration and reduce friction during mergers, acquisitions, and joint ventures. *(For dedicated, deal-specific support, see [Post-M&A Integration and Joint Venture Support].)*

Intercultural conflict resolution

Turning recurring points of friction like missed deadlines, unclear ownership, unspoken disagreement into productive conversations before they escalate.

Market entry and localization

What new entrants to the Japanese market consistently misjudge, and how to localize strategy, not just tone and language.

Each of these can be delivered as a standalone session or combined into a longer program — we’ll help you decide what your team actually needs during an initial conversation. We will not sell you a fixed package.
